When is the office open?

Our normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call our office at (956) 668-0060 during normal business hours and someone will be happy to assist you in scheduling an appointment. Please click here for more information about appointments and scheduling. If you had any lab work done or x-rays, please be sure to bring them with you on your scheduled appointment.

I'm not sure if you accept my insurance coverage. What should I do?

Insurance carriers are constantly changing contracted physicians for different employer groups. Therefore, it is always wise to verify insurance coverage before scheduling services. Click here to check our list of managed care plans and check on other important information regarding insurance coverage.

I ran out of my medication. How can I get a refill?

Please contact your pharmacy. They will notify our office of your request. Refill authorizations are given between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday only. No refills are authorized after hours or on weekend. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for refill authorization.

I need a prescription for pain. Can I get one without coming into the office?

All patients must been seen and evaluated in the office before any medications will be prescribed. If you feel like you need pain relief, call to schedule an appointment. Your particular medical situation will be assessed and an appropriate management strategy discussed with you, which may or may not include pain medication.

What if I need an x-ray or MRI?

On-site diagnostic, including x-rays and MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) are available at Orthopedic Surgery Center as a convenience to our patients and their families.

How do I obtain my MRI results?

If you were referred by your primary care physician, he or she will review results with you. If an MRI was ordered by one of our in house physicians, they will review results accordingly.

What if I need physical therapy?

Orthopedic Surgery Center has a full physical therapy department where our patients receive therapy by a Licensed Physical Therapist. This allows our therapist to have easy access to the physician to insure that your physical therapy stays on course and obtains the desired results. If our department is not convenient for you, you may take your therapy prescription to another qualified therapy provider that is closer to your home.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

Our phone is answered 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency after hours, you may call our regular number, (956) 668-0060 and the operator will refer you to the provider on call. If your situation is severe, please go to the nearest hospital emergency room to be assessed.

What hospitals will Orthopedic Surgery Center use?

Dr. Raul Marquez has privileges with Cornerstone Regional Hospital in Edinburg & Edinburg Regional Hospital. Dr. Sergio Rodriguez has privileges with Cornerstone Regional Hospital in Edinburg, Edinburg Regional Hospital & Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance in McAllen.
